My Contributions
Designing all art assets of the game, from UI/UX elements to 3D environments, is as difficult as it is fruitful. Specifically, designing the UI elements took a lot of trial and error. Our goal for this game is for it to look stylistically interesting and unique, while satisfying for the players.

Six trees and three tile maps

My Process
As I wanted each house to be drawn in a consistent angle with the same lighting, I created my own reference by blocking out simple shapes in a blender. I was then able to import the image into Aseprite and add details.

Step 1: House in 3D
Step 2: Block Out in Aseprite
Step 3: Add Furnishing
Step 4: Add Details
A new technique I learned through this project is creating tilemaps. By using tile maps, our programmers can playtest with more flexibility compared to a completely predrawn map.
