My Contributions
I directed the art direction of the game and produced all environment assets for the game. I chose a color palette dominated by purple tones to reflect the novel's subtle, ominous atmosphere. 2D art assets I created includes:
Five houses
From left to right: Victoria's House, Generic House 1, Gina's House, Molla's House, Generic House 2

Six trees and three tile maps

My Process
As I wanted each house to be drawn in a consistent angle with the same lighting, I created my own reference by blocking out simple shapes in a blender. I was then able to import the image into Aseprite and add details.

Step 1: House in 3D
Step 2: Block Out in Aseprite
Step 3: Add Furnishing
Step 4: Add Details
A new technique I learned through this project is creating tilemaps. By using tile maps, our programmers can playtest with more flexibility compared to a completely predrawn map.
